JEREMY SCOT AW12/13

Once again Jeremy Scott has blown me away with yet another technicolour wet-dream! Mr Scott never fails to deliver the kind of show you need sunglasses to watch, and a sense of humour to appreciate.

With this rainbow infested collection, JS seems to have taken inspiration from the 90's: The multicoloured club scene, the computer boom and the 70's inspired fashion of the era.

As always, pop culture plays a major role in Scott's inspiration...And being the big kid that he is, the motifs this time round are My Little Pony, the 'Smiley' and Bart Simpson, which admittedly do all scream 90's!

There is definitely something for everyone in this collection; biker jackets, figure hugging dresses, knitwear, foil embellished gowns, metallic kilts, fur coats, leggings...well you get the idea, there's a lot going on! I love this aspect of JS shows, there's so much detail that it's hard to take it all in at once, and to appreciate the genius of it all, you need to view more than once!

Despite my love for this collection, I've got to admit...He isn't really bringing anything new to the table...A lot of it we have seen in previous collections, just altered slightly. I'd like to see him branch out a little...It feels like he knows what he can do well and is just sticking with it. Take some risks Mr. Scott! Saying that though, I do ADORE the rainbow hair cape!!

MADONNAS/SUPERBOWL/GIVENCHY

The world is in a frenzy right now following Madonna's stunning mid time performance for the 111th superbowl...And rightly so!

The fashion world was at the edge of its seat in anticipation as to who and what Madge would be wearing, and she certainly didn't disappoint!

In typical Madonna fashion, she was carried onto the field on an Egyptian style throne, in a stunning crystal and spike encrusted Givenchy haute couture floor length cape. Complete with one of the most breath taking head pieces I've EVER seen, courtesy of the extremely talented Phillip Treacy. Her Madgesty pulled no punches in reclaiming her 'Queen of Pop' status, singing 'Vogue' whilst her gladiatorial dancers flocked around her. 

The dancers themselves looked amazing, wearing Roman-esque outfits teamed with Jeremy Scott shoes or gold Dr. Martens. Many of the dancers also had masks, headpieces (also by Treacy) along with ornate epaulettes...It really was a breathtaking opening to the show!

Madonna was then joined onstage by LMFAO as she lost the gold gown and crown, revealing a black minidress and gold studded gladiator skirt, also by Givenchy, that was VERY Versace...And I mean VERY...Regardless, I love it!

The gladiator dancers left the stage to usher on a group of cheerleaders, along with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Both Minaj and M.I.A wore black, red and gold cheerleader inspired outfits, complete with gold pom-poms of course! Minaj and M.I.A's looks where completed with Erickson Beamon headdress's...For me the headdresses in this show NAILED IT!

For the final segment Madonna wore a floorlength black coat that was yes, again, courtesy of Givenchy. which I must admit was a bit reserved and, dare I say plain?! Yes, It is beautiful...but to start the show with a bang, I maybe expected it to end in the same way?

GALIBARDY: SKULLS AND SPIKES AND SCORPIONS, OH MY!

You may remember I wrote a blog post back in June, all about the amazing work of Galibardy, a fresh and exciting jewellery brand that is taking the fashion and celebrity worlds by storm with their fun and edgy pieces.

Well, ever since then I've been keeping a close eye on what they've been up too...and I must say, they've done good! With a whole heap of new additions to the Galibardy family, I thought It was about time P.A.R found out a little more!

The Scorpion King Ring and Rose Skull Ring were other favourites too – I love their dark, gothic style glamour.''

It's safe to say that Galibardy are doing EVERYTHING right, and they are definitely set to have an exciting 2012! With more of there self titled 'Galibardy music mixes' to be dropped this year as well as plenty of giveaways to look forward too, they're definitely one to watch!

REID PEPPARD

There is a definite morbidity trend in fashion at the moment, with an influx in 'dead things' being used to create jewellery, accessories and hats. Though controversial to many, It's a trend that will always appeal to a certain percentage of the populace...me included!

The work of London based Peppard is VERY different to any other taxidermy obsessed designer I've seen to date...Her work is stunningly beautiful, creating pieces that originally would have been far from it! But on the other hand, a lot of the pieces remain very sinister, almost like she hasn't shied away from the fact that she's using a dead animal: Instead she embraces the fact...You would certainly need a strong stomach to sport many of the pieces...

Peppard not only uses real animals in her work, but also silver and gold casts of the deceased bodily parts (definitely a lot more palatable) I've fallen head over heels in love with the crow talon pendant and fox jaw chain!

Undoubtedly, using taxidermy to create jewellery is still a social taboo...but to Peppards credit, she only uses ethically sourced animals in her work, which have died from natural or unpreventable circumstances.

With the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Lady Gaga wearing her stuff, alongwith being featured in Vogue and the world renowned windows of Selfridges...It's safe to say that she is one to watch. Expect to see a lot more of her 'Pretty dead things'!

THOM BROWNE AW12

When it comes to contemporary and edgy fashion, Thom Browne is no stranger. Time and time again, Browne has delivered a fresh and innovative collection that somehow manages to erupt all expectations as to how classic tailoring can be re-imagined any more.

Brownes collection is rather contradictory in its aesthetic...creating suits in a classic checked pattern, which to many would seem to be a 'nerdy' ensemble and then adding odd trouser lengths, fur merkins and studs 'n' spikes...well, it completely turns the whole picture on its head.

Alongside these 'nerds' there are 'quarterbacks' with voluminous shoulders that would make Herman Munster feel inferior. I love how Browne plays with silhouettes and turns a classic cut of a suit into something MORE.

Obviously, a gimp mask will always grab my attention, and there're plenty to be had in this collection! Not only are they in patent leather, but also in pastel check's...giving the unconventional headwear a softer and more palatable edge.

Overall I ADORE this collection...SO much love for the chic palette and OTT shapes and embellishments. By far one of my favourite collections of the season!
