Lara Jensen's jewel-dripping pieces for Inbar Spectors AW12 collection are nothing short of MIND-BLOWING.

My heart stopped for a few seconds when I first caught site of these stunningly extravagant 'masks' (Can we call them masks?) and it struggled to start beating again as I trawled through Jensens extensive catalogue of work...The gold chain and crystal pieces reminded me of Indian jewellery often seen at weddings, but on a MUCH grander scale. There's also a definite fetish aspect in there composition: constricting and outrageous, but still decadent and uber feminine.

When speaking of her inspiration for the pieces, Jensen had this to say...

''My love of decadence and colour lead to the choice in the stones and settings...as I was designing the pieces, through the process of positioning the elements, there were shots of influence showing through of circus harnesses, Bedouin tribal costume and Fabergé''

I think the pieces sit perfectly with Spectors collection, with neither designer holding back one bit with the design you'd think the overall effect would be a bit 'too much'. But this isn't the case, I think the work of each designer completely compliments the other. Superb!

Having graduated from the London College of Fashion studying costume design, its no wonder Jensens work is so theatrical. Her spectacular work has caught the eye of some of the BIGGEST names in the biz including Lady Gaga, Jessie J, Karl Lagerfeld, Peaches and MAC cosmetics...With fans as big as these, It's safe to say Jensen has a truly GLITTERING future!

JEREMY SCOT AW12/13

Once again Jeremy Scott has blown me away with yet another technicolour wet-dream! Mr Scott never fails to deliver the kind of show you need sunglasses to watch, and a sense of humour to appreciate.

With this rainbow infested collection, JS seems to have taken inspiration from the 90's: The multicoloured club scene, the computer boom and the 70's inspired fashion of the era.

As always, pop culture plays a major role in Scott's inspiration...And being the big kid that he is, the motifs this time round are My Little Pony, the 'Smiley' and Bart Simpson, which admittedly do all scream 90's!

There is definitely something for everyone in this collection; biker jackets, figure hugging dresses, knitwear, foil embellished gowns, metallic kilts, fur coats, leggings...well you get the idea, there's a lot going on! I love this aspect of JS shows, there's so much detail that it's hard to take it all in at once, and to appreciate the genius of it all, you need to view more than once!

Despite my love for this collection, I've got to admit...He isn't really bringing anything new to the table...A lot of it we have seen in previous collections, just altered slightly. I'd like to see him branch out a little...It feels like he knows what he can do well and is just sticking with it. Take some risks Mr. Scott! Saying that though, I do ADORE the rainbow hair cape!!

FASHION FRINGE LFW 2011

For the last seven years, LFW has been host to 'Fashion Fringe': A real life project runway on which up-and-coming designers can début their work, providing a perfect launchpad for these creatives to get themselves noticed.

With previous winners going to forge successful careers post-fashion fringe, the world watched with baited breath as this years finalists sent their collections down the runway. I think I can safely say that no-one was disappointed with the results.

First off, I must point out that ALL three of the finalists have a huge amount of talent, and are all winners in their own right, but it is the first collection of the show that caught my eye, and ended up being crowned winner of LFW's Fashion Fringe 2011!

Fyodor Golan, A Latvian/Israeli duo formally known as Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman, blew judges away with their exquisite collection titled 'Flowers of Evil'.


A stunning collection in every way possible; From the cut, colour and embellishment of the dresses, right down to the hair/make-up and ordering of the models.


Each model has an other-worldly air to them, resembling nymph's of the earth and sea that have just awoken from another realm, draped in vivid and provocative gowns that would make any seasoned designer proud.


My favourite pieces from the collection has to be the black and white gown, resembling a bird/flower hybrid...Its this type of awkward grace that I love to see from relatively new designers, an approach to design that is bold and fearless.

SISTER by Sibling

You may remember my previous blog post on knitwear label 'Sibling', In which I unashamedly drooled over their amazing work, and this new venture has had a similar effect on my saliva levels.

During LFW 2011, Sibling debuted a new offshoot of the original collections, but this time with the female of the species in mind!

The collection is everything that can be expected from Sibling: Loud prints, bright colours and classic designs with a very modern twist. The theme running throughout the collection screams 'Seaside', 'Fairground' and 'tattoo'd carnies', along with the Sibling staple of leopard print! SO MUCH love for the LOVE/HATE jumpers...I don't even care if they're meant for the ladies.

Sibling have also collaborated with Topshop and will be releasing a line of exclusive knitwear for the Oxford Street branch and Selfridges...Here are a few pieces from the collection that will be available from mid November 2011!
